Rick Bucklew is an airline captain in the United States who has made major contributions in the airline industry. He has piloted for one of the world’s major commercial airlines Airbus A320s and A319s. In the aviation industry he has also assisted as a flight engineer on Boeing DC-10s and 727s and at a couple of aircraft flight schools as a flight instructor.

In the year 2016 Rick Bucklew has been bestowed with the highly esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award by President Barack Obama for his contribution to construct a dominant nation via volunteer service. He has been working for four major airlines and has been serving as a first officer, flight engineer, aviation instructor, and captain. He has been a part of this aviation industry for more than thirty years and has worked for a commercial airline with an average of seventy flights hours per month.

Mr. Bucklew has been a marine and a martial arts practitioner and has functioned as a federal flight deck officer for over a time. In order to defend the cockpit of an aircraft from hijacking Rick has been a part of a moderately guarded program, which has been formed post 9/11 attack, where carefully chosen pilots were sent to go through federal law enforcement training which allowed them to use lethal force. Because of his numerous skills, in St. Louis he was selected as a regular contributor to an AM 550 Radio talk show and answered questions on several occasions regarding airline security and the advantages and disadvantages of arming pilots before it became law.

In addition to this Mr. Bucklew’s is a martial arts fanatic who meticulously took training on the Japanese art of Shito Ryu and Shorin Tyu. He also received a black belt in the Korean Tang Soo Do. For more than twelve years, Mr. Bucklew developed certain karate skills that helped him to grow his strength and endurance needed for his career. Mr. Bucklew is a supporter of the Airline Pilots Association and takes part for Kids program, which lets aviation specialists to share their time and gifts with hospitalized children. In addition to this, in Evergreen, Colorado, the United States Mr. Bucklew has also functioned as a volunteer for the Alpine Rescue Team. In the program “Rescue 911” his work with the team was featured.
