Benefits Of Minimalist Design

Does your home annoy you? Then go with minimalism!

There is no place like home. At least that’s what people say.  Your home is a place where you come to relax. It is your castle, and you are the king. You should feel great in your home, not anxious or repulsed. What is the purpose of your home if not making you feel better and giving you a place to stay where you feel comfortable? You can always have a house, but not every house is a home, it has to be made into one.

Do you go through your front door after a long day, just to find a bunch of laundry, dishes and dust? Has it struck your mind that maybe your home is increase your stress level? You may be surprised, but research has confirmed that your home drastically affects your state of body and mind. They should be your sanctuary, somewhere to escape to and enjoy yourself.

Let’s look at some ways you can turn your home in to a space of joy that will lift your mood.

The first step is to consider a minimalist design. Minimalists are much happier in their homes for a few reasons

Benefits Of Minimalist Design

You can get sick of your interior

Research shows that lighting, space, design and layout can affect how you feel. Here are a few examples of what could cause bad mood.

  1. The room is stuffed, which can lead to impatience.
  1. If the room is too dark, you can get depressed or dark.
  1. If the room is too bright, you can feel stressed…blinds are a good choice.
  1. If the room is too small, you can feel compressed or trapped.

None of these examples sound tempting.

Too much stuff collects too much dust and makes the home stuffed

Look around you, shelves, laundry on the floor, sofa crowded with pillows, the carpet fills every inch of the floor. It is understandable, you have these things as décor, because you wanted your home to be comfortable and hospitable. Unfortunately, you can only get the opposite effect with that, making your home crowded and stuffed and a sanctuary for dust.

But remember, it is very important to leave a few mementos, because they can make you feel better and more satisfied, favorite books, family pictures are perfect decoration no matter what style. If your home is sterile, it can make you nostalgic and sad.

Simplicity and symmetry

Our minds are sometimes ridiculous and complicated. We will probably never understand totally how they work, but there are studies that show how the brain reacts to symmetry, and that is a positive reaction. Our minds love symmetry.

Maybe it is stupid to say that matching your coffee table with the right lamp will make you happier, but there is a spark in achieving balance in your interior.

This proves the claims of minimalism – it is usually simple and symmetric design, which means your home will become a happier place. Maybe all of us should consider a more minimalist approach in our homes.
